Day 2

Today was day 2. I went in earleir (around 2:45) and started with a few rounds of jump rope, shadow boxing, then hopped in the ring with Billy, an older gent that really helped me put some combo's together. The guys at the gym are really low-key, a very interesting dynamic. Its more generational, yet for a newcomer anyone can add a couple comments. But you have to leave it to the trainers to tell you good job. They recognize my progress because of other athletic skills. Art gave me my set of wraps, to protect my knuckles. With Billy I got to put on real boxing gloves. As much skill as it takes, I really want to get stronger, to get just ripped. It's nice that I don't really care about losing weight or gaining it, as long as its healthy. West End does it right, as far as I can see. I broke a good sweat and still had plenty of time for more. I saw a couple kids sparring- one suffering a bruised ego and a bloody nose. It was his fault, he wouldn't throw the jab, and his cross took him off balance making him drop his hands. Hopefully I get back in there on Friday.
